Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum – Visitor Overview

Gear up for an unforgettable adventure at one of New York City’s most iconic museums! Explore legendary vessels, inspiring stories of bravery and innovation, and immersive, hands-on exhibits that bring history and technology to life.

Museum Hours:

  • Mon–Fri: 10 AM – 5 PM

  • Sat, Sun & Holidays: 10 AM – 6 PM


What You'll Experience

Aircraft Carrier Intrepid

  • Launched in 1943, the Intrepid survived five kamikaze attacks and one torpedo strike in WWII.

  • Served in the Cold War, Vietnam War, and as a NASA recovery vessel.

  • Explore its decks and learn the stories of the brave men and women who served aboard.

Submarine Growler

  • The only American-guided nuclear missile submarine open to the public.

  • Inspect the top-secret missile command center and discover the inner workings of this historic vessel.

Space Shuttle Pavilion

  • Home to Enterprise, NASA’s prototype orbiter that paved the way for the space shuttle program.

  • Features a Soyuz capsule, rotating artifacts, and virtual and augmented reality experiences.

New Permanent Exhibition

  • 10,000 sq. ft. of artifacts, oral histories, hands-on exhibits, videos, and photos.

  • Highlights include a fully restored WWII FG-1D Corsair fighter-bomber, one of the few remaining in existence.

British Airways Concorde

  • See the record-breaking supersonic Concorde Alpha Delta G-BOAD, which once crossed the Atlantic in just 2 hours, 52 minutes, 59 seconds.
